Icon Poly hand a hand in an event that benifited the entire community of Nebraska City and we just had to tell you about it..
Elementary aged students in Nebraska City who are blind or visually impaired got to participate in this amazing and worthy project which was designed to help students learn about art. Every student that participated created their own design of An Enchanted Arboretum maquette.
The 12” maquettes were replicas of the 6 foot trees created for the professional artists who also participated.
The actual trees were made of fiber-reinforced urethane foam and cut on our FROGMill™ by Icon Poly.
One student from each classroom was chosen to have their maquette design replicated onto a four-foot tall tree. There were 47 four-foot tall trees designed by the chosen students and 25 six-foot tall trees designed by professional artists from the state of Nebraska.
Kyle Vohland (of Icon Poly) and his family, drove almost 3 hours, one way, from Gibbon to Nebraska City just so they could be there for the unveiling of the finished tress.
The unveiling was a success with over 200 people in attendance to show their support for the community and public art. What a special cause!
